Bella's Cheery Cherry Harness

Last night I made Bella a new harness. I used her old one as a template for the pattern. Using just some cheery cotton and some fusible interfacing with wide bias tape. I also used some blue nylon belt material and a plastic clip. This was easy to make and looks so summery on her.
Of course I had to decorate it a little with some green ribbon and red buttons.
And here she is modeling her Cheery Cherry Harness. She looks cheery doesn't she? She hates to wear anything.

I Am Feeling Blue

Well I am a little blue, but I thought I would share three necklaces that I have made in shades of blue. The first one is done with eye pins, threading a bead on an eye pin, making a loop at the top and connecting to next eye pin. It reminds me of the ocean colors.
The next one has shades of blue, aqua, periwinkle, clear and lavender. These are just seed beads threaded on 4 separate threads and attached to one bail. I usually twist it in a torsade to wear.

The last one is made of natural shell beads in shades of deep tealish blue. It is very smooth feeling against the skin so it is very comfortable.

I really need to get a light box or make one to get these pictures to look brighter.  I am going to have to get on that. Thanks for taking a look.

Goodwill Makeovers

I  went to Goodwill yesterday. I never find anything there to craft with, but I scored two things.
I got this for $1.50.

I painted it Watermelon.

I am going to add some other embellishments as soon as the clear coat dries.
Update: Here is the finished product.

I  also found this for $1.50.
I  decided it needed to be Watermelon too. This color goes with everything in my craft room.

Then I added some decorations to it.
I added some Gerber Daisies.
And here it is sitting on my desk hutch.
I am not sure which one I like better. I am going to sleep on it.

Antique Gold and Aqua Earrings&Necklace

I had some time yesterday to fix 2 broken necklaces and then the beads began calling me. I had purchased this pendant awhile ago and decided today was the day. I used some antique gold chains from Michael's. First I cut the chain in the middle to add the golden brown beaded set to each end. I then attached that to the pendant. I wanted to add some aqua to match the pendant, so I made another beaded set, cut the chain 10 links up on each side from the brown bead and added the aqua set. And it was done.
Of course I needed earrings to match.

For each earring, you need a headpin, 2 seed beads, 4 daisy spacers, 2 disc shaped beads, and an ear wire.
Now I have to find an outfit to match.
                                          Peace and Love,

I know that my blog has had many faces since I started, but as with my furniture at home, I like to rearrange until I feel it is perfect. I think that I am satisfied with the way it looks now. I make add a few things, but I am going to keep it this way. If anyone wants to know how to replace their sidebar widgets with a picture here is the link to the code I used.
It was REALLY easy and I am not a computer whiz. To edit my HTML...let's just say that is something that I never thought would come out of my mouth. I am so excited to say that it was not hard, just time consuming. I made all of my sidebar pictures with photobucket and some things I downloaded. Also, if anyone wants to add the same signature or picture and signature at the bottom of every post, you can use this link for that. Give it a shot. I know that this is supposed to be a crafting blog, but as you know, us crafters have to decorate EVERYTHING. Have a great Saturday and now I should get back to crafting.

Easter Decorations

Several years ago, I painted ceramics. I have had a terrible time finding a shop or classes in Kentucky, so have not done much in the last few years. I did have decorations for every holiday when the kids were little. Here are some of my Easter Decorations. These are all hand painted.

This one has a story. It was from my childhood, chipped, so I repainted it and it looks great. I kept the original bunny color and changed the egg a bit. Originally painted by a female inmate at Kansas Women's Prison 1970. (My mom worked there)

I also like to make wreaths for all of the seasons.
